As a former high school varsity cheer coach, I realized the Mid-coast area high school cheer programs were struggling to be competitive with no local feeder programs. A huge component of competitive cheer is tumbling and I had began working with a tumbling coach who came highly recommended. Starting to tumble in high school is not ideal, but it was not long before my athletes developed skills working with Shawn.
We offer two stand alone programs one being floor tumbling and the other being competitive cheer.
Here we are entering our 9th season, having survived a pandemic, and our tumbling classes are full and we hit an all time record of 68 youth cheerleaders in grades K-8th. In 2019 we also introduced an open cheer team for high school and older to give athletes the ability to carry on with a gym they grew up in.
We have 8 seasoned cheer coaches, 2 Head Tumbling Instructors and several assistant tumbling coaches. We are committed to working together to bring out the best in our athletes including but not limited to: develop confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork, individual skill sets, respect for one another, a strong work ethic and together we are better than one!
It takes a village to raise a child and at Firehouse,
